The Naked Staycation Bucket List 2021
Other than how to make banana bread, the main thing we’ve learned in the past year is just how great a staycation can be.
It turns out you don’t need to jet around the world to discover new faces and new places. There are incredible things to see and experiences to be had right on your doorstep, wherever you are in the world.
And so, to help you live your best staycation life, we’ve put together a list of our top 10 Staycation Bucket List ideas. In true Naked fashion, it’s a little on the unconventional side. Think less sun loungers, more sleeping bags. Less beach clubs, more beach campfires…
This list is about celebrating the freedom that only a staycation can bring, helping you have real, stripped-back experiences and moments of connection with those you’re fond of most.
So let’s dive in, shall we?
#1: Find your own infinity pool 🥽
You simply cannot beat the feeling of freshwater swimming (as long as it’s safe, obvs). Whether it’s a dip in the river or splashing about in the sea, wild swimming with your mates will give you a sense of freedom that no packed hotel pool ever can.
#2: Dine al fresco 🍽️
You don’t need to go abroad for an unforgettable holiday, and you don’t need a fancy restaurant for an unforgettable meal. Just find a quiet (and ideally dry) spot to enjoy some simple outdoor dining with your mates. And when you’ve eaten, we’ve heard Naked is the perfect after-dinner drink 😉.
#3: Meet the locals 🤝
For over a year, real connections and face-to-face experiences have been taken away from us. So you’ve got lots of making up to do. While on your staycation, take some time to really get to know the locals, and if there aren’t any humans about, why not get to know some four-legged friends instead…
#4: Push the boat out 🚣♀️
We aren’t talking about money here - you’ll actually find it’s quite easy to have a budget staycation. No, what we mean is, get a fresh perspective on things. Push yourself out of your comfort zone a little. Go all out on new experiences, a million miles from the hustle and bustle of the everyday.
#5: See the sights 👀
It won’t be the sort of sightseeing you’re probably used to, you’re unlikely to come across any tour guides, large queues or dodgy souvenirs. Instead, it’ll just be you and your mates discovering a whole new side to the place you call home. And we think you’ll be pretty amazed at what you find...
#6: Put your feet up 👣
A staycation is the perfect excuse to switch off (literally). To forget about the office, deadlines and those passive-aggressive emails. To put your laptop down and your feet up, ideally while sipping on a Naked cocktail...
#7: Get all the likes 👍
To nail this one, simply follow this 4-step plan:
Step 1: Hand everyone a glass.
Step 2: Pull out a bottle of Naked Malt (accepting fist bumps and high fives optional).
Step 3: Pour everyone a drink.
Step 4: Revel in all the applause, you’ve earned it.
#8: Travel in style 🛹
You don’t need to worry about being crammed into a plane while slowly losing circulation in your legs. A great staycation (like a great whisky) should be enjoyed your way, so if you want to travel on one wheel, two wheels, four wheels or no wheels, go for it. Just remember to do it in style.
#9: Become an influencer 👩🏫
...but with your phone nowhere to be seen. Instead, try taking a skill you know and passing it onto your friends. How to skim stones, how to make a whisky cocktail, how to hit a 6 iron - it’s completely up to you. You’re the influencer, after all...
#10: Keep spirits high 🥃
It appears we’ve left the best until last. After a long day of swimming, sightseeing and exploring, sit down with a glass of Naked, raise it skywards and savour this special moment with the people you love most in the world.
And that’s our Staycation Bucket List, 2021. We hope it’s given you some inspiration as you get ready to head off for a staycation near you.
