Delightful strawberry syrup takes top billing in this contemporary take on the cobbler. A quintessentially summer sensation that balances the deep robustness of whisky and sherry with the bright berry taste for a unique and flavourful cocktail.
Ingredients
Glass: Highball
Garnish: Strawberry leather / fresh strawberry
Ice: Crushed
Method
Add all ingredients into glass, add ice and churn for 15 seconds.
Homemade ingredients: Strawberry syrup
250g / 1 cup white sugar
250g / 1 cup diced fresh strawberries
Method:
Heat sugar and water until sugar has dissolved, add strawberries and bring to boil. Take off heat and leave to cool. Strain through cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer.
Strawberry leather (use leftover strawberry pulp):
Blend the remaining pulp from strawberries, add to saucepan and reduce until jam-like then spread thinly over baking paper, bake/dehydrate for 6 hours at 80°c.
